Right then, that is it from this encounter where Canada thrashes Nepal in the first official warm-up match. Our next coverage will be of the warm-up game between Bangladesh and USA. That game will be played on 28th May, Tuesday at 9 pm IST (3.30 pm GMT), but you can join us early for all the build-up to the game. Cheers and goodbye!
Earlier in the game, Canada posted a big total on the board courtesy of a brilliant half-century from Nicholas Kirton along with a good contribution from Navneet Dhaliwal, and a fiery cameo from Ravinderpal Singh. Abinash Bohara picked up a couple of wickets for Nepal while except for Rohit Paudel every other bowler chipped in with one each. While chasing, Nepal were never really in the game and ended up getting bowled out for a mere 120 runs.
Canada, on the other hand, was excellent with the new ball and they conceded just six runs in the first three overs. Dillon Heyliger got rid of Kushal Bhurtel with his first ball setting the tone for them. The spinners then came to the party and gave nothing away in the middle overs and picked up crucial wickets as well. The conditions were difficult and a few players were cramping up left, right, and center, but that did not affect them as it was an excellent performance them. Saad Bin Zafar and Jeremy Gordon ended up with a couple of wickets each while Kaleem Sana and Pargat Singh chipped in with one each as well. Heylinger was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to his name and wrapped things with two wickets in two balls.
Nepal struggled to get out of the blocks initially and could not really make full use of the Powerplay losing Kushal Bhurtel a bit controversially as well. Anil Sah and Aasif Sheikh then steadied the ship but they too found it difficult to score freely. Once both of them were dismissed, it all went down like a house on fire. No one in their middle order could make any sort of impact except Kushal Malla who initially struggled too but ended up as their highest scorer with 37 runs fighting a lone battle. In the end, they had to suffer a heavy defeat and fell short by 63 runs.
Canada registers a dominating victory over Nepal! They were the better side for most of this game and managed to outplay their opponents in all three departments. They will take a lot of confidence from this win going into the main event and they can cause a few upsets down the road.

OUT! GONE! Malla goes! This is full and around off, Malla looks to heave but fails to connect it properly. Hits it to deep mid-wicket where Ravinderpal Singh takes and this time looks like he has twisted something but the good thing is, he is back on his feet.
Halt! Pargat Singh looks in some serious pain here as his left ankle twists when he lands on the ground. The players look concerned and the physio is in to check on him. He is being stretchered off now but we hope that it is not that serious to dash his hopes of playing in the World Cup.
